Dev Diary 12/2023: Plans for Managing Your Own Network

This week was a whirlwind at Endless Studio as we put the finishing touches on our last feature update for 2023 – version 2023.8, unveiling the exciting addition of Show Franchises. 🚀

But that's not all... we had a surprise winner on Feature Voting Season #2: Managing Your Own Network, which will surely be both a game-changing new feature and a monumental development task. 🙈

And we also have some Breaking News: We finally regained control over our Threads account, as it became available in the EU, where our HQ is – about time, right? 🎉

You spoke, and we're listening! The upcoming feature update will dive deep into Managing Your Own Network.

While we're in the early planning stages, here's a sneak peek: envision yourself not just at the helm of a TV production studio but steering a comprehensive TV empire. Picture being able to not only produce shows and later also movies, but also to manage your broadcast/cable and streaming network’s show and movie library, program the schedule, evaluate pilots, order seasons, cancel shows, and handle network subscribers and advertising contracts for that sweet revenue.

When you start a new game, you’d be able to choose which one you want to start with (a studio, a broadcast/cable network or a streaming network), and could later expand to the other two if you want.

And we have some more exciting news! Before we finalize any plans, we want to do something new: For the first time in the history of Endless Studio, because this is truly a monumental new feature, we want to involve you guys in the planning process! 🤗

Results for Feature Voting Season #3, Week #1 are in! 🗳️ Endless Studio's top fans, who chose the Level 2 Supporter Subscription, used their power to vote to elevate the following features to the Top 5:

• Planned Show Ending: 391 votes
• Critics & Awards: 344 votes
• Feature Movies: 174 votes
• Producing Whole Seasons: 110 votes
• Buying & Selling Studios: 55 votes

Planned Show Ending and Critics & Awards lead the pack, for now. Let's see how/whether this will change in the coming weeks...
