Dev Diary 5/2024: Introducing the Library

This week, we've laid out the plans for the upcoming second preparation update for the Managing Your Own Network feature set.

Next Time On Endless Studio…

In the next update, we're thrilled to introduce the Library, a new room that will serve as a powerful replacement for the current Shows screen, located in the Management Room. Here's what you can expect:

• Show List screen: We're bringing you a vastly improved list, featuring additional information that's currently unavailable in the show list. This includes details such as genre, studio, network, status, and viewership. Not only will it showcase your own shows, but it will also include shows from other networks, providing you with comprehensive insights into competing shows. As a network, you'll even have the option to offer their studio to switch their show over to your network. The list will offer extensive filtering and sorting options, including a text search, ensuring you can find exactly what you're looking for.
• Show Detail screen: This screen is getting a complete makeover with more valuable information, including the title, genre, logline (editable at any time), seasons and episodes, release date, main cast details (with an option to view the actors), episode runtime, episodes per season, studio, network(s), production status, franchise details, viewership, average score, and financials. You'll also have the ability to archive/unarchive a show and delete it, if it's still in the development phase and hasn't produced any episodes yet.
• Episode List screen: Accessible from the Show Detail screen, this screen will provide enhanced information for each season (network, viewership, average score, financials) and each episode (production status, release date, viewership, score, financials).
• Episode Detail screen: This screen will also undergo a redesign, offering all the essential information, including episode type, production status, release date, viewership, minimum score, actual score, main cast, additional cast, crew, production parameters, and financials.

Once it's completed, the Library will become an indispensable tool for managing your studio. We have a busy agenda ahead, but we're excited to kick things off with the development of the Show List screen next week! 🚀
