Dev Diary 16/2024: Viewership & Renewal Upgrades

Another productive week down as we pushed forward with the new network scheduling for our upcoming update. 🚀

Next Time On Endless Studio…

As you probably know, our next update, 2024.3 will be the last preparatory step before we can start creating the much-anticipated Managing You Own Network feature set, which was voted for by our biggest fans as the next feature. And this week, we continued on this path by making significant strides with the Scheduling Overhaul for networks:

• We’ve updated the viewership calculations to better sync with the new scheduling methods.
• We’ve aligned the texts for episode and season airing events on the Weekly Events screen to the new scheduling methods and viewership calculations.
• We’ve revamped the logic for show renewals and cancellations, shifting to a more realistic, weekly basis rather than a rigid, uniform schedule.

Next up, we'll wrap up the Scheduling Overhaul. This includes converting old schedules to the new format, ensuring the Top Charts screen reflects all changes, and addressing any other game aspects impacted by the updated scheduling.

Results for Feature Voting 🗳️ Season #3, Week #20 are in, revealing the following Top 5 features:

• Critics & Awards: 1569 votes
• Feature Movies: 588 votes
• Producing Whole Seasons: 432 votes
• More Talent Variety: 248 votes
