Dev Diary 22/2024: Sneak Peek at Update 2024.4

After releasing 2024.3 last week, we're excited to share our plans for the next and biggest update of this year: 2024.4. This update will finally introduce the highly anticipated Manage Your Own Network feature set, chosen by our biggest fans! 🤗

Next Time on Endless Studio…

Adding the ability to manage your own network is a HUGE change—so much so that it feels like it could be a completely separate game. 😆 But here we are, after 7 months of preparation and 3 major releases in, finally ready to add network management to Endless Studio… wait, something’s not right! 🤔

If the game now includes managing networks and not just a production studio, the name doesn’t quite fit anymore. 🤷‍♂️ So, it’s time for a change… Welcome to the new name: Endless TV Tycoon! 📺

Here's what we have planned for the big update 2024.4:

• New Starting Screens: When starting a new game, you’ll choose a starting venture—Broadcast, Cable, Streaming Network, or Production Studio. Later, after leveling up your TV company, you can add more ventures.
• Company Portfolio Screen: A new screen in the Management Office listing all the networks and studios you own.
• Costs & Revenues Screen Changes: This screen will now include network subscription & ad revenue, as well as network costs.
• Level Up Screen: A new screen in the Management Office replacing the Studio Level screen, displaying level-up requirements for your TV company and perks like starting a new venture.
• Ad Sales Office: A new room where you can manage ad contracts for your networks.
• Scheduling Office Changes: This room will now allow you to manage your networks’ schedules and pair time slots with ads where applicable.
• Briefing Room Changes: This room will now include options to start new ventures (when requirements are met) and make decisions about pilots and renewals/cancellations for your networks' shows.
• End Week Changes: New logic to calculate network revenues, create new network events, and update network subscriber counts.
• New Tutorial: A completely new tutorial explaining the network gameplay.
• Knowledge Base Update: New pages to cover all the new functionality.
• New Starting Room: The Scheduling Office will join the Briefing Room, the Library, and the Management Office as a free starting room for every new game.
• Subscriptions Rename: We're not only renaming the game but also the Supporter Subscriptions: Level 1 becomes the Ad-Free Pass, and Level 2 the Ultimate Pass!

Sounds like a lot, right? And this is on top of everything we introduced in 2024.1, 2024.2, and 2024.3 to make network management a reality! 😬 But don’t worry, we’re working as fast as we can to bring you this gigantic update. As always, we’ll keep you informed every step of the way. 😊

Supporting Endless Studio

Endless Studio is a niche game with a dedicated but small community. Traditional pricing models, like one-time purchases and third-party ads wouldn’t generate much revenue, given our small player base.
