Dev Diary 26/2024: The Briefing Room is Now Ready for the Networks

Hey everyone! We’ve been hard at work, and we’re excited to fill you in on all the new features we’ve just wrapped up for the upcoming Manage Your Own Network update. All of this is happening in or around the Briefing Room! 🤗

Next Time on Endless Studio…

Since our last Dev Diary, here’s what we’ve finished for the 2024.4 release:

• Each week, studios pitch new shows to networks — now including yours! You’ll see a weekly event on the End Week screen that tracks how many pitches your network(s) received.
• In the Briefing Room, you can greenlight shows based on these pitches or pass on them. Budgets and minimum scores are pre-set but fully adjustable to your liking.
• If your own studio makes a pitch, it’ll be highlighted at the top so you can’t miss it!
• Studios will respond to your network's offer the following week, and you’ll get the results on the End Week screen.
• If your offer is accepted, the studio will either produce the pilot (for Broadcast or Cable networks) or the entire season (for Streaming).
• For Broadcast and Cable networks, once the pilot is complete, you get to decide the show's future.
• Once a season is ready to air, you’ll be able to schedule it in the Scheduling Office.
• You can also renew or cancel shows after they start airing. Check out all the show details, compare average views with the network’s average, and set budgets and minimum episode scores.
• If you, as a studio, want to move an existing show to one of your networks, you’ll have full control over that decision.
• In the Briefing Room, there are now new CEO actions to launch a network or studio, as long as your company meets the requirements listed on the Level Up screen in the Management Office.
• If you start a new game in sandbox mode or have the ‘Unlimited Venture Launching’ option enabled, you won’t need to meet these requirements to start new ventures.
• If your TV company hasn’t launched a studio yet, studio-specific actions won’t appear in the Briefing Room.

Feature Voting Status Report

Our Level 2 Supporters have a big say in what we develop next through the monthly votes on the Feature Voting screen. We’re currently in Voting Season 3, which will wrap up when the winner of the last season, the Manage Your Own Network feature, launches with update 2024.4.
